Welcome to Learn To Swim at LSASC

Overview

The LSASC learn to swim programme follows the National Teaching Plan for stages 1 to 7.

Each stage has a series of outcomes that a swimmer must consistently achieve in order to pass the stage.

Lessons run during term time only and last 30 mins. We offer stages 1 to 5 at on Sundays between 4 and 5.30pm and stages 5 to 7 on Tuesdays 7 to 7.30pm . All lessons are at Newbold Comyn 

The current cost of lessons is £5.25 per lesson payable termly in advance.

Assessments

We invite all children (except beginners) to attend an assessment prior to being offered a place. This ensures swimmers are placed in the correct stage as per our criteria.

Swimmers are asked to swim short distances in each stroke that they can perform, in order that their technique can be assessed. We do not assess speed or the distance a child can swim.

Junior Swim Club (JSC)

All swimmers who complete stage 7 with LSASC are offered a place in JSC. 

Achievers Programme

The achievers programme is the link  between the learn to swim stages and the competitive training squads. The achievers programme is offered by invitation only following an assessment or to swimmers already in the stages.
