Code of Conduct

For Parents of Junior Members
Acceptance of junior membership on behalf of the child implies acceptance of the Club’s Codes of Conduct. Furthermore parents are themselves required to:

Observe the terms of the Swimmers’ Code of Conduct.

Take responsibility for the swimmer’s compliance with the relevant Code of Conduct.
n Ensure prompt payment of any fees due to the Club in respect of swimming and associated activities.

Swimmers (including Junior Members)
This code of conduct refers to responsibilities placed upon all members by acceptance of their membership of the club.
In the case of junior members their parent or guardian shall make acceptance on their behalf.
Acceptance of the Code is a condition of membership.
Failure to observe the Code may result in disciplinary action according to the Club’s own procedures, and to the sanctions of the Amateur Swimming Association.

The Code
At all times whilst using facilities contracted to the Club, or in a situation where they may be regarded as representing the Club, a swimmer shall:

Act as a representative of the Club and avoid actions or behaviour, which may bring the Club into disrepute.
Treat other swimmers, whether Club members r not, with courtesy and respect.
Treat coaches and officials of the Club, event organisers and participating clubs with courtesy and respect.
Refrain from using bad language or participating in verbal, physical or emotional abuse of others.
Treat all facilities provided with respect, especially with regard to cleanliness and tidiness of changing areas, poolside areas, and car parks.
Observe rules for use of any transport arrangements organised by the Club.
In addition members shall:
Notify coaches and other team selection officers of availability for team competitions, giving adequate notice of any change in circumstances.
In any communications with the Press or other media in relation to swimming activities, make clear the swimmer’s Club affiliations.
N.B. the Code of conduct is in addition to and not in substitution for ASA Rules or Laws.
